Hibike! Euphonium menceritakan Kumiko Oumae, seorang gadis pemain band orkestra di SMP-nya yang kini mulai memasuki kehidupannya di SMA sebagai murid kelas satu. Teman sekelas Kumiko, yaitu Hazuki dan Sapphire memutuskan untuk ikut klub band, tapi karena Kumiko melihat teman lamanya Reina juga ikut, dia mulai ragu. Dia masih teringat insiden yang terjadi dengan Reina saat kontes band tingkat SMP yang mereka ikuti tengah berlangsung.
